How To Safely Replace Empty Ink Cartridges In Printer?

Printing is one of the unskippable needs of every office. The printer needs cartridges to get you white paper inked in the desired pattern. The Ink & Toner Cartridges get consumed over time, and you need to replace them with new ones.

Though all printers require different steps to be followed for ink cartridge replacement, there are some common steps for mostly all inkjet printers. Follow the below guide to replace the ink cartridges safely.

How To Safely Replace Empty Ink Cartridges In Printer?

Note Down The Important Details

Take a diary or make a folder on your phone to save essential details about printer and cartridge. Write down printer brand, printer model number, cartridge number, and type of cartridge.

You need these details secure to purchase the best for your printer. Whether you are buying originally manufactured ink cartridges or Remanufactured Cartridge, taking note of such vital details will help find the right one.

Buy Suitable Ink Cartridges

Buy Suitable Ink Cartridges

You can use the details you have saved, to search the suitable right ink cartridges for your printer. Open a website you want to use to purchase the inks and search according to the cartridge number.

You can also share these details with a local office supplier to get you the right ink cartridges. When you don't purchase online, many sources can help choose the right one. You can also ask the supplier to keep your details secure and send you cartridges regularly.

Start By Turning The Printer On

Turn on the printer to get the spent cartridge out. The ink cartridge is enclosed in a flap or lid which you need to open to get the cartridge out. The cartridge will come out automatically as you open the flap or it will come out when you press a button.

Remove The Spent Cartridge

The cartridge is securely fixed to the ink tray. You will find some clips around the ink. Press the clips, and the grip will loosen out, making the empty ink cartridge come out of its position. Pull the ink away from it, and you will have it in your hands.

Make sure you only remove the spent cartridge when you have prepared a new one to fix there. If you leave the print head unoccupied for a long time, it may dry. The new ink won't work on a dried print head.

Remove The Protective Layer And Insert The New Cartridge

The protective covering can be of different type depending on the cartridge you buy, but it must be there. Remove the layer before installing it in the position to ensure the proper flow of ink.

Keep the ink flow point above and attach it to the print head. Slightly press it when you are sure that you have tucked it at the right spot. The ink will automatically fix with a little pressure.

Test The Printer

Now, when you have replaced the ink securely, it's time to check if it's done correctly. The process is successful when you get an inked paper.

It is easy to install the ink cartridge if you choose the right fit. Couldn't find the right one yet? Contact us, and we will help you out.
